Barb Batson Bio

Barb is a certified Aquatic Exercise Association Fitness Instructor since 1995 and teaches at Centennial SportsPlex; the Wellness Center at Baptist Hospital; Vanderbilt Dayani Center; Gordon Jewish Community Center; and is a past Tennessee Fitness Spa guest instructor. Barb currently serves general, arthritis, fibromyalgia, MS, Parkinson Disease, senior, and pre natal populations.

In addition to her local aquatic career, Barb authors articles for AKWA, the aquatic professional magazine; she is a presenter at the International Aquatic Fitness Conference; the Aquatic Therapy Rehab International Symposium; she is an AEA CEC provider; and serves on the AEA Advisory Council. She is also a program trainer for both the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Arthritis Foundation.

She is co-founder of the Nashville Aquatics Alliance and serves on the Community Health and Wellness Team. Barb has recently been named to the Nashville Mayor's initiative Healthy Nashville 2010.

Barb hosts cruises for Fun and Fitness Travel Club and has joined Fun & Fitness Travel Club team as Fitness Host Coordinator.

She is also certified by the YMCA, Exercise Science Alliance and is AEA Personal Trainer Certified.
